CRIF of the North, Pas-de-Calais, Somme and Aisne Regions

 

Minutes of the CRIF meeting held on the 1st of April 2012 at Saint Quentin

Were present:

MR  JOEL MERGUI, President of the Central Consistoire of  France

MR  XAVIER  BERTRAND, Minister.

Under the presidency of:

MR CHARLES  SULMAN, President of the regional Consistoire for the North, Pas de calais, Somme & Aisne

and of MR PAUL ELKAIM, President of the Jewish community of ST QUENTIN.

Decision mas made that:

• the President and all the bureau are to be renewed,
• consultations are to be held in November at St Quentin with the view of organising the annual CRIF Dinner.
• and that Mrs & Mr PAUL ELKAIM are in charge of the organisation of the Dinner.

We would like to thanks the President of ST QUENTIN as well as all his staff for their kindness.

Were present:

the Presidents or their deputies of Lille, Valenciennes, Lens, Amiens, Boulogne sur mer.     

 

The CRIF, Representative council of the Jewish institutions of France, is the spokesperson of the French Jewish community to the public authorities.

The top aims of the CRIF are:

• The fight against any form of anti-semitism, racism, intolerance and exclusion.

• The assertion of its solidarity to Israel and its support to a peaceful resolution of the Middle East conflict.

• The preservation of the memory of the Shoah, so that the future generations do not forget the Jewish victims of the Nazi cruelty.

Today the SPCJ publishes its 2009 Annual Report on anti-semitism in France, to consult it: click here.

This report was submitted to the Government and distributed to the guests of the dinner of CRIF on Wednesday 3rd February 2010.

On the whole, in 2009, 832 acts (against 474 in 2008) were recorded on the French national territory. The figures communicated in this report emanate from the census carried out by the Department of Assistance to the Victims of the SPCJ, which operates a crosscheck with the French Home Office.

Statistics with comments and analysis, a focus on January and extracts of judgements relative to anti-semitic acts supplement this report/ratio.

Minutes of the meeting of Regional CRIF of North, Pas-de-Calais and Aisne of the Sunday 22th November 2009 in the Valenciennes Synagogue:

 

1) READING AND APPROVAL OF THE STATUTES OF REGIONAL CRIF:

After reading, the statutes are unanimously approved by attending members.

 

2) ELECTION OF GOVERNING BODY:

Unanimously are elected,

Vice President: GERARD BISSOR

Vice President: SERGE BERREBI

General Secretary: JEAN JACQUES BEHR

3) TREASURY:

He was voted an annual contribution of 100 euros per annum for each Member association.

 

4) CRIF Dinner

Organising Members:Mr PAUL ELKAIM, MME DORA LEBOVIC, MME D MOISE, MR BISSOR GERARD, MR GUY ZARKA.

Place: St Quentin sinon LILLE.

Price 60 EUROS, possible transport: 10 Euros per person, organised by MR. EMMANUEL CESAR.
